About Andy

Andrew holds an MBA and is an honorary fellow at Cranfield University

Originally from Lancashire, Andrew has a friendly down to earth approach and a solid background as an educator, teaching all aspects of finance and strategy. Over the last twenty years, he has designed and run a wide variety of training programmes from basic level finance for non-financial managers to high level corporate finance and from simple understanding business to corporate strategic planning workshops. Andrew helps to develop people’s commercial awareness by putting their work in the context of the “big picture” of how their organisation works and competes within its markets. From there he encourages them to apply some of the tools of corporate analysis to their own work situations using the relentless commercial logic he demonstrates.

Much of Andrew’s early work was with banks in the field of credit, teaching lenders to analyse businesses and assess risk. This included the development and delivery of a range of sector analysis programmes covering the construction, healthcare, retail and the licensed trade industries. He has also run a number of strategic training events for companies (for example helping to develop the corporate strategy for a major pizza manufacturer) and working on the FA Chairman’s panel to improve prospects for young English footballers. More recently Andy has worked extensively with owner -managers of established businesses (5-50 employees) helping them to improve and grow.
